Interlocking, zigzag and I-shape
These shapes lock into each other when laid, which helps the surface stay together under repeated traffic. They are common for parking areas, driveways and yards.
Rectangular and square
Simple shapes laid in running bond, herringbone or grid patterns. They are popular for walkways, entrances and commercial areas.
Hexagonal
A honeycomb pattern that suits gardens and courtyards where appearance matters.
Thickness and base matter
Thickness should match the traffic, and a well prepared base and edge restraint matter as much as the block. Ask your installer, and tell the supplier what the surface will carry.
